It's MUCH easier to find a rock song with meaningful lyrics than it is to find a rap song that even comes close to it.

You're mainly referring to older rock.. classic rock and such. Listen to bands like Smile Empty Soul, Evanescence, Nightwish... I'm sure you'll find that the lyrics are a hell of a lot more meaningful than such rubbish as "This is how we do"  or "Don't fuck wit me I'm from da hood!"

Rap doesn't even come close to rock. I really dislike most rap music, mainly because I find it to be very stupid and pointless. It seems like every song is about the same things: women, sex, drugs, and money. It gets rather annoying after about 2 minutes. Rock actually has some thought put into it.. you know, emotions. I think that almost anyone could be a rapper if they wanted to. I only like a few rap songs, and I like them because of the beat, definitely not the lyrics. People can actually relate to rock, unlike most rap. I'm also really sick of the arrogance that rappers show. All they talk about is how much money they have and how many records they've sold. Rock is just better, plain and simple.
